AI pet health monitoring is the centre of this direction: a collar IMU classified on-device turns activity, sleep, scratching and respiration into health trends — the feature set subscription brands are built on. It rides on the same collar that does the finding: multi-mode GPS + WiFi + LBS + BLE positioning with AGNSS hot start. Around both, the same edge-compute stack powers camera feeders with pet recognition, litter boxes and two-way video.

A collar IMU sampled continuously is the richest health sensor a pet wears — but raw motion only becomes sleep scores, scratch alerts and respiration when the classification runs on-device, inside a microamp power budget. Cloud-side recognition buys a subscription, a latency floor and a device that degrades offline; edge IMU algorithms and NPU vision remove all three. That firmware discipline — not the plastic — is what separates a health product from a pedometer.

Firmware ships with a dual-partition layout and automatic fallback, so an interrupted update boots the previous image instead of bricking the unit. Updates go out in staged batches from the device cloud, with version reporting per unit. It is designed in at the first prototype, not added before launch.
