On-device vision + app-connected control
Pet Tech
Connected pet hardware with real on-device compute — wide-angle HD vision, pet recognition and event capture that run locally rather than round-tripping to a server.
The part that decides the project
Deciding what runs on-device. Most connected pet products push recognition to the cloud, which buys a subscription, a latency floor and a device that degrades when the network does. Running it on an NPU costs more silicon and removes all three — and for a tracker, the equivalent trade is duty cycle against battery life.
What you need to decide before we can quote
- On-device or cloud inference — a cost and business-model choice
- Whether the product carries a subscription
- For trackers: cellular bands and IoT SIM per market
What this direction covers
- AI camera feeders
- Smart litter boxes
- Pet dryers & drying boxes
- GPS smart collars
Silicon it runs on
Linux SoC with NPU · WiFi SoC · MCU
